BY-LAWS

By-Laws of the Southeast Coalition of Civic Clubs

ARTICLE I  NAME OF ORGANIZATION: 
The name of the organization shall be SOUTHEAST COALITION OF CIVIC CLUBS.  The SOUTHEAST COALITION OF CIVIC CLUBS is a non-profit Civic Association register with the State of Texas.

ARTICLE  II  
PURPOSE:  The purposes for which the organization is organized are:

a) To enhance the livability of the neighborhood and Houston by establishing and maintaining an open line of communication and liaison among the neighborhood, government agencies and other neighborhoods.
b) To do and perform all of the activities related to said purposes, to have and enjoy all of the powers granted, and engage in any lawful activity for which nonprofit corporations may be organized under Texas and federal law.
c) For such other objectives as are approved by the Board of Directors (Board) or membership.
d)  To promote community participation and involvement in our neighborhoods with the various civic clubs, businesses, organizations and churches.
e)  To work collectively to secure community services from our city, county, state f)    To work to improve the safety, welfare, social, and community services for all community residents.
g)    To execute positive and constructive community services projects and activities that improve the community.
ARTICLE III  Government 

    Section I
  1. The positions below are considered the Board of Directors.  Two-thirds (2/3) of these officers are required for a quorum.
    1. President
    2. 1st Vice-President
    3. 2nd Vice-President
    4. Secretary
    5. Assistant Secretary
    6. Treasurer
    7. Parliamentary
    8. Chaplain
